Charles Clifton Addis, age 69, of Lakemont, Georgia, passed away on Febuary 5, 2018.
He was born the son of the late Clyde Addis and Gladys Pless Addis on January 23, 1949 in Rabun County.
Clifton was a devout Christian and a deacon of Flat Creek Baptist Church. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He spent many hours in his garden, tending his plants and keeping bees. He loved raising hogs, and spent much time hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He always enjoyed collecting the honey made by his beehives and cooking for his family. He was a musician, played the guitar, and sang at church.
His survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Addis; his two sons, Brian Addis (Donna), Brad Addis; his three brothers, Hoss Addis, Michael Addis and Allen Addis; one sister, Martha Beck; his grandchildren, Jodie Lovell, Courtney Speed (Dalewin), Matthew Addis (Salem), Bryson Addis, Briley Addis, Lauren Benfield (Jordan), Jeff Talley, Wyatt Burrell; great grandchildren, Lily Speed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday February 8, 2018 at the Beck Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
The body will lie in state at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Lakemont, Georgia from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held on Friday February 9, 2018 at the Flat Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Michael Rogers and Rev. Albert Giovino officiating with pallbearers Brandon Hunnicutt, Steven Wilson, Dalewin Speed, Randy Justus, Tim Dunn, Jordan Benfield; honorary pallbearers, Deacons Larry Turpin, Carl Anderson, Bill Welborn, Bay Bye Garner, Rodney Anderson.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church.
