Dr. William Waitsell Cuthbertson

William Waitsell Cuthbertson, 75, of Clayton, GA, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013.

He was born in Duck Town, TN and was the son of William Pyrd Cuthbertson and Lena Mae Casteel Blakley.

In addition to his parents, Dr. Cuthbertson was preceded in death by a son, John William Cuthbertson, one brother, Dr. Paul Young Cuthbertson, and a sister, Shirley Cuthbertson Gordon.  He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Cuthbertson; two daughters, Debra Lynn Cuthbertson of Clayton and Donna Cuthbertson Galloway and her husband Dale of Clayton.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, William Trent Galloway and Torie Galloway Lancaster and her husband, Michael and a special niece, Paula Cuthbertson Nichols..

Dr. Cuthbertson was a self employed optometrist and was a member of the Georgia Optometric State Board of Examiners for 2 terms and was an Optometrist in Clayton for 24 years and 38 years in Cornelia, GA. He also founded the Visual Education Foundation in Dunwoody which then became the Omni Eye Center.  He was also instrumental in the passage of the Right To Know Bill.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cornelia.
