Edward Kermit Welborn

Edward Kermit Welborn, age 68, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on December 17, 2018.

Kermit was born the son of the late Doctor “Doc” Berry Welborn and Emma “Betty” Page Welborn. Kermit was a carpenter and contractor in his professional life, and worked in the construction industry for 50  years. He was a devoted member of the Persimmon Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Kermit loved being in the mountains, and riding around on the back roads, and camping in the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cordelia Tincy Welborn.

His survivors include his son, Greg Welborn (Lisa), of Clayton, Georgia; step-son, Danny Haralson (Debbie), of Greenwood, South Carolina; his daughter, Chastity Dill (Robbie), of Douglasville, Georgia; his step-daughter, Vickie Haralson, of Clayton, Georgia; four sisters, Kay Pitts (David), of Clayton, Georgia, Susan Shook (Bennie), of Young Harris, Georgia, Lillian Garrett (Roy), of Clayton, Georgia, Wanda Henry (Randy), of Clayton, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jager Welborn, Tallulah Grace Welborn, Shiloh Welborn, Melia Dill; five step-grandchildren, Jeffery Hooper, Amanda Stout, Christy Haralson, Kacey Oliver, Brittany Thibeault; and number and nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at the Beck Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at Persimmon Church of God on Wednesday December 19, 2018  at 12:00 pm with Rev. Teddy King and Rev. Greg Welborn officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the Persimmon Community Cemetery.
