Lorene Dotson Rogers

Lorene Dotson Rogers, age 95, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on October 22, 2017. She was born the daughter of the late Charlie Dotson and Kate Smith Dotson on September 21, 1922 and was one of thirteen children. Lorene was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church, and was the Secretary Treasurer of her Sunday school class for 28 years.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Ransom Rogers and one daughter, Carolyn Turpin, preceded her in death.

Lorene is survived by her son, Jan Rogers, of Watkinsville, Georgia; one daughter, Glenda Rogers, of Clayton, Georgia; one brother, Dwayne Dotson; eight grandchildren, Josh Rogers, Kelly Echols, Jacob Rogers, Jesse Rogers, Rance Gillespie, Lindy Thomas, Tracy Pratt, Justin Turpin; ten great-grandchildren also survive her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 29, 2017, from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday October, 29 2017 in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home, with her grandson Rance Gillespie and Mr. Max Gates officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Lorene’s honor to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN  38105-1942
