Lou Belle Alexander Dotson (Granny Dotson), 93 of Mountain City, GA passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Gainesville, GA.
She was born in Habersham County, GA and was the daughter of Alvin and Drucilla Warren Alexander.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Lenwood Dotson, Sr., and a brother, Emanuel Alexander.
Granny is survived by one son, Thomas Lenwood Dotson, Jr of Greenville, SC .; three daughters, Linda Lou Dotson Merck of Gainesville, GA, Reba Dotson Ramey of Lakemont, GA, Drucilla Dotson Graham of Woodland Park, CO; a brother, John P. Alexander of Macon, GA; and two sisters, Mildred Donaldson of Mountain City, GA and Susan Taylor also of Mountain City, GA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lakemont, GA but had also attended Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA where she was very active in church activities including toddler Sunday School teacher until the age of 90 and also the Card Ministry for the ill and shut-ins.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Friday, February 17, 2012 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Tabernacle Baptist church with Rev. Steve Townsend and Rev. Mike Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park.
