Martha Joyce Bellamy Rumsey, 78, of Clayton, Georgia passed away February 21, 2010 with her family at her side.
Martha was born in Elbert County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Sam Bellamy and Vera Clark Bellamy. She was a Teacher and Media Specialist for thirty-two years and retired from the Rabun County School System.
Martha was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church and a member of the Ideal Sunday School class. She was also involved in many other organizations, among them, Anita Roper Circle, AARP, Senior Center Aerobics, former member of the Clayton Library Board, Retired Teachers Association.
Martha Loved the mountains, Rabun County Wildcats, Georgia Bulldogs, and Florida’s Beaches. She loved life!
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Tom Rumsey, who passed away in 1970.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ray Rumsey of Clayton; two sons Sam Rumsey and Wife Donna of Clayton, Ken Rumsey of Lake Park Florida; two grandchildren Chelsea Rumsey, Zack Rumsey; one sister, Becky Lay of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 22, 2010 from 5 until 8 PM at Beck Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at the Clayton Baptist Church Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM with David Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rabun Memorial Park Cemetery.
