Horace Jefferson McCrackin, 90, lifelong resident of Clayton, Georgia, was received into the loving arms his Lord on Saturday morning, February 27, 2010.
He was born in Rabun County and was the son of Julius Madison McCrackin and Bessie Palleene Smith McCrackin.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McCrackin was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Jim McCrackin; a sister, Ruby McCrackin and a granddaughter, Amy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Geneva Lawrence McCrackin of the home; five sons, Pastor Madison and Dianne McCrackin of Clayton, Pastor Joe and Brenda McCrackin of Clayton, Clod McCrackin and Jeanette of Clayton, Clifton and Carol McCrackin of Westminster, SC and Olian and Stella McCrackin of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Elizabeth and Rick Buchanan of Clayton; one brother, Frank McCrackin and; two sisters, Annie McCrackin Welborn, Ruth McCrackin Taylor. 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. McCrackin was a life-long farmer and was a member Wolfcreek Baptist Church and also attended Battle Branch Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Sunday evening, February 28, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11 AM at Battle Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Newton Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the McCrackin Family Cemetery.
