James Henry Williamson III, age 69, of Dillard, Georgia passed away on March 12, 2024.
Henry was born in Anderson County, South Carolina to the late James Henry Williamson II and late Gloria Davenport Williamson. His lifelong passion of fly fishing led to his distinguished career as a fishing guide and mentor. His peers referred to him as the Original Guide and a legend in his 30 plus accomplished years. He was a talented and self-taught bamboo fly rod maker and a fly fishing teacher to thousands among his many accomplishments that touched countless lives.
His family and friends debated if just one personality trait could encompass his essence. The words generous, honest, brilliant, eccentric, and blunt do not do him justice. A lifelong learner who was educated in wildlife & forestry. The most important roles in his life were loving Husband, Father, Pop, and Brother.
Henry is survived by his wife, Joyce Williamson; children, Henry (Hank) Hoyt Williamson and Hannah Marie Williamson McCall (Craig); sisters, Lori W. Allison (Rodney) and June W. Hopkins (Nick); and grandchild Gloria Lynn McCall.
