Janice Blaine Peak, age 73, passed away on April 20, 2019.
Jan was born the daughter of the late Earl and Lucy Watts Blaine on March 28, 1946, in Macon County, NC. In her professional life, Jan worked for Doctors Gossett and Ward and later retired with Macon County School System as V.I.P Coordinator for the After School program in Franklin, NC. She was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. In her free time she loved to organize reunions, sharing love through the food ministry with her husband to special love ones. She loved her grandchildren, she rarely missed any of their school events, teaching them to read. She was known as “Grandmother” to many she knew. She enjoyed watching her birds, and seeing the flowers bloom in the garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and nana.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thad Blaine and Turner Blaine; one sister, JoAnn Brown.
Jan leaves behind her loving husband, Randal Peak, of the home; her son, Jeff Peak, of Rockmart, GA; two daughters, Karen Peak, of Plant City, FL; Jeanna Nichols (Anthony), of Tiger, GA; two brothers, Thurman Blaine, of Waynesville, NC, Ted Blaine, of Franklin, NC; one sister, Jean Setser, of Maggie Valley, NC; grandchildren, Lesley Hardegree, Adam Peak, Jacob Peak, Dillyn Nichols, Eden Hudgins, Whitney Nichols, Taylor Peak, Tyler Peak; great-grandchildren, Kayli Elliott, Madison Stockton, Drew Hardegree, Jack Hardegree, Emma Grace Peak, Logan Hudgins, Arlis Hudgins, Raylyn Freeman and special extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday April 27, 2019 at the Beck Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
A funeral will be held in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday April 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Charlie Bass officiating.
A committal service will follow the service at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Franklin, NC with Rev. Brian Pitts officiating.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jan’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or the Care Partners Hospice Foundation 68 Sweeten Creek Road Asheville, NC 28803.
