Jay Perry Fielding of Thomasville, GA passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Jay was born on May 30, 1961 in Atlanta, GA and moved to Thomasville, GA in 1963. Jay graduated from Thomasville High School in 1979. In 1984, he attended Indian River College in Ft. Pierce, FL to become a certified Dental Laboratory Technician. In 1991, he started Medical Management Inc. to serve the State of Georgia in medical transfer service. While working he obtained a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. At the age of 42 Jay attended John Marshall School of Law in Atlanta, GA and after graduation started his law practice in Thomas County, GA. In November 2012, Jay was elected Solicitor General of Thomas County, GA, and he was re-elected in 2016. Jay was currently serving his second term. In 2017, Jay was declared a deputy sheriff for the 2017 – 2020 term by Sheriff Carlton Powell.
Jay is survived by his wife Debi Snyder Fielding.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Henry C. Fielding. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Fielding; brothers Guy Fielding, Scott Fielding, sister Rae Fielding Wilson, (Curtis), nephews Matthew Freeman, Curt J. Wilson, Eric Fielding and niece Sara Elizabeth Fielding; parents-in-law Brant and Susan Donalson.
A celebration of life will be held at 435 Black Bear Den Rd. Clayton, GA on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 1pm- 3pm. In lieu of flowers donations should me made in Jay’s memory to Paws 4 Life 261 Boen Creek Rd, Tiger, GA 30576
