Joann Eleanor (Taylor) Wilson

Joann Eleanor Taylor Wilson, age 81, of Clayton, GA., passed away on December 7, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Archie Taylor and Ruth Burman Taylor.

Joann was born in Twentynine, Palms California.  There she met her husband, George, who was stationed in the Marine Corps. They lived in California, Connecticut, Florida, then moved to Rabun County, Georgia in the Mid 70’s, which they made their permanent home. Joann loved the area for its beauty and small town qualities.  Joann was a stay at home mom of six children. Joann was a dental assistant for Dr. Gillespie for a number of years; she also had a love for sewing and quilting. She was the owner of local business Sew & Sew. Joann enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, gardening, and loved baking for her loved ones during the holidays. George and Joann were married for 63 years.

In addition to her parents, one brother, Theodore Richard Taylor, preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her husband, George Spencer Wilson Jr; one son, George Spencer Wilson III of Stuart, FL., five Daughters Heather Jo Wilson Bottger of Waynesville, NC., Gay Dawn Wilson of Clayton, GA., Holly Ruth Ciochetti of Clayton, GA., Kristen Wilson of Summersville, SC., Nicole Poole of Clayton, GA., one brother, Jerry Taylor of San Diego, CA; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive her.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday December 14, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mary Demmler officiating.
