So very sorry to hear of the loss of Joe and Phyllis. We purchased their residence in Escondido, California in 1992. We are still here and have made many changes, but the is so much that Joe and Phyllis did here that their memory lives on in the property they loved. They were always very nice to us and we think about them often. Rest In Peace.

Phyllis was my 5th grade teacher in the late 70s. She was a special person who had a profound influence on my life. I managed to keep in touch with her a little bit over the years. It was always great when we got a chance to catch up. Add me to the list of the many people who are happy that she touched our lives and are so sad that she is gone.

Deeply regret the tragic death of Joe and Phyllis. My wife, Debbie, was a niece of Phyllis. We visited their home once in the early 90s with our three children. At that time, they had recently found a huge St Bernard and our kids had fun playing with it. When I was stationed at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama, Joe and Phyllis stopped by our house as well.

It has been many years since we have heard from either of them. After Deb's mom, Muriel passed, we lost track.

Regrets,
Dave Knopf

I am so very sad to hear this news. Mrs. Kneer was my 5th grade teacher at Mount Pleasant Elementary School. She was a wonderful teacher and I have such special memories from her class. Sending thoughts of healing, strength and comfort to their family.

I am Mr. And Mrs. Kneer's mail carrier, and have spoken with your parents when I delivered parcels over the past 14 years. I am blessed to have met such lovely people.

Joe and I would spent hours talking in the woods about different things some on the jobs he had performed for others and he would talk in much detail and length about the job. Sometime we talk about politics, and who was running and what we thought. Joe did not talk much to me about his family other than just a few words about Phyllis and how she was doing.
I would be working on pulling a tree out and Joe would walk down and we would get to talking. Or he would be cutting a tree down and I would be walking down to put a letter in the mail box and stop to talk to him. We were neighbors.
What a sad loss to know they are both gone. May God be with you all.

May the warmth and comfort of lovely memories someday take the place of the sadness you feel now.

I kept hoping there would be a service here or at least an address that I could send a card.
May God be with you all in this time of sadness, you have my prayers.
