Robert Bailey Ingersoll

Robert Bailey Ingersoll, age 93, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on February 4, 2018.

Robert was the son of the late Wilfred Ingersoll, and Marion Bailey Ingersoll, and was born on April 30, 1924. Robert enjoyed square dancing, playing golf and loved farming and his family. He was a 24th degree member of the Masonic Lodge. Robert served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps’ 14th Air Force, 529th Fighter Squadron “Flying Tigers” during his tour in the China/Burma/India theater of war.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Barbara Davis Ingersoll, preceded him in death. She was the love of his life through the 63 years they had together. One grandson, Mathew Ingersoll, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his two sons, Daniel D. Ingersoll and Robert David Ingersoll, both of Clayton, Georgia; his daughter, Marion Elizabeth Weber (Mike), of Clayton, Georgia; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family will receive friends at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia.

A memorial service will follow at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Tim Miller officiating.

The family will be at the residence of Bob Ingersoll.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Robert’s memory to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN  38105-1942
