Stacey Clara Elizabeth (Jenkins) Welch

Stacey Clara Elizabeth Jenkins Welch, age 59, of Mountain City, Georgia, passed away on December 11, 2017.

Stacey was the daughter of Jesse James Jenkins and the late Mabel Silva Jenkins. Stacey worked at Ridgecrest Hospital for many years, and had previously worked at Stephens County Hospital and Northeast Georgia Medical Center. In her thirty-five year plus career, she was devoted to her patients, showing them the compassion and care for which she came to be known. Stacey loved the outdoors, animals and was an avid sports fan, especially if it involved her children and grandchildren. She always attended the Rabun County High School games and had a reputation for “keeping the referees honest.” She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who touched many lives with joy. She was a fighter, yet always full of grace.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Belliger.

Stacey is survived by her husband, Ralph Edward Welch; her father, Jesse James Jenkins; two sons, Jonathan Welch (Kelli), of Toccoa, Georgia, Jeremy Welch, of Mountain City; one brother, James Jenkins, of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Melodie Wood, of Clarkesville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Chesney Welch, Cooper Welch and Capi Welch.

The family will receive friends at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday December 13, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2017 in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home at 5:00 pm with Mark Gerrells officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Stacey’s memory to Rabun Paws 4 Life 261 Boen Creek Rd, Tiger, GA 30576.
