Alice Mary Manning, 93, of Leicester, NC, died peacefully on November 22, 2021, after a series of health complications.

She was the devoted wife of Milford, who pre-deceased her in 2007.

Born in 1928 in New York, she was the youngest daughter of Paul and Else Thofner. Alice graduated from Greenwich High School and met Milford after he returned from WWII. They married in 1949, and she continued to work as a bookkeeper until they moved to Florida in 1957. They made a life there for 30 years before retiring to Rabun County, GA, where she lived until 2020. Alice enjoyed crafting and anything involving children. She relished decorating her yard for every holiday and waving daily to the school bus that passed by her home in Lakemont.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Linda Bonikowski, of Riviera Beach, FL, grandchildren Alicia Flanagan (Dave), of Leicester, NC, and Joseph Bonikowski III of Riviera Beach, as well as a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Flanagan. She will be missed by numerous friends and acquaintances, whose friendships she valued.

In honor of her wishes, there will be a graveside service only at Rabun Memory Park on Friday, November 26, 2021, at 11:30 AM.
