Barbara
Taylor
Oct 12, 1947 — Nov 1, 2025
Barbara Queen Taylor, age 78, of Rabun Gap, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025.
Barbara was born to Paul Queen and Loenia Redden Queen, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ellis Ale Taylor; her daughter, Connie Taylor; and one cherished grandchild, Payton Taylor; as well as her brothers Paul Queen Jr., Chester Queen, Calvin Queen, and Hudson Queen; and her sisters Patsey Beasley, Catherine Kilby, Martha Lee, Vassie Worley, and Wanita Queen.
Barbara is survived by her loving son, Ricky Taylor; three grandchildren, Emily Taylor, Luke Taylor, and Grady Taylor; and one brother, Charles Queen.
Barbara was a Godly woman who lived her life with deep faith and devotion. She loved attending church and prayer meetings and was a shining example of kindness and service to others. A fantastic cook, Barbara shared her gifts generously with family and friends. She also cared for many children in the community as a daycare provider—children who lovingly called her "Nanny." As they grew into adulthood, they continued to see her as family, a testament to the love and warmth she gave so freely.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Head of Tennessee Baptist Church, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Harvey Conner and Rev. Hank Conner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Marvin Reed officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army 306 E Franklin Street Toccoa, GA 30577.
Barbara's faith, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
— Matthew 22:37
