Betty Jo Smith Bennett, of Clayton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Mountain View Nursing Facility.

Betty loved nature and liked to spend her time tending her beautiful flowers. She also was well known for her cooking, and loved to provide for family. She was a member of the Collins Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Susie Clark Smith and Otis C. Smith; Her husband, William Carlton Bennett; one daughter, Patricia Bennett.

She is survived by her sons, William Bennett, of Clarksville, and Billy Bennett, of Augusta; her daughter, Sara Arro, of Homer; one step-daughter, Charlotte Godfrey, of Gainesville; four sisters, Kathryn Parks, of Gillsville, Barbara Minish, of Maysville, Sue Cofield, of Homer, Linda Parr, of Seneca, SC; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2017 at Beck Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday January 28, 2017 at Taylor's Chapel Baptist Church. Burial service to follow at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery.
