Della Mae Baker, age 62 passed away on June 9, 2026. Della was born June 22, 1963 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Norman Winfred Baker and the late Doris Mae (Hunter) Baker.

Della was a woman of deep faith whose life was guided by her lifelong commitment to the Methodist church. She dedicated many years to caring for her mother, reflecting the selfless compassion that defined her character. Della enjoyed a long career at Sullivan University and the Kentucky School of Business, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She loved reading, watching cooking shows, and sharing her beautiful singing voice with family, friends, and her church community. After moving to Georgia, she proudly became an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Dawgs. Above all, Della cherished her family, who were the center of her life and the source of her greatest joy.

In addition to her parents, Della is preceded in death by her brother, Teddy Lee Doyle; and her nephew, Marvin Foster.

Della is survived by her siblings, Joyce Baker Foster (Chuck), Richard Baker and Vickie Baker; nieces and nephews, Heath Foster and Russell Foster; great nieces and nephews, Jordan Foster, Charles Foster, Logan Foster, Haydan Foster, Alexia Foster and Joella Foster; as well as numerous family members in both Kentucky and Habersham County.
