Dwight Preston Wood, age 76 of Tiger, Georgia passed away on July 29, 2026.

Dwight was born May 16, 1950 in Clarkesville, Georgia to the late Hubert Lee Wood and the late Lola Velma Shook Wood.

Dwight dedicated many years to working in small engine repair with Amrine Equipment and Rentals. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that remained a lasting source of pride. In his free time, Dwight enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time shooting guns. Above all, he cherished his family and treasured every opportunity to be with them.

In addition to his parents, Dwight is preceded in death by his brother, Benny Wood; and sister-in-law, Shirley Wood.

Dwight is survived by his brothers, Donald Wood, Roy Wood (Martha), and David Wood (Melodie); as well as a number if beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 3:00pm August 9, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Batesville, Georgia.
