Alice Geneva Lawrence McCrackin, age 96, passed away on October 18, 2020.

Geneva was born the daughter of the late Homer Buren Lawrence and the late Amy Flora Smith Lawrence on March 29, 1924. In her professional life she worked as a seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She enjoyed children, reading, working on puzzles and crosswords, gardening, canning, and picking and breaking beans.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Horace McCrackin; three brothers, Buren Lawrence, Billy Lawrence, Ray Lawrence; two grandchildren, Robert Buchanan, Amy McCrackin, preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her five sons, Catfish McCrackin (Stella), of Anderson, S.C., Clifton McCrackin (Carol), of Westminster, S.C., Clod McCrackin (Jeanette), of Clayton, GA; Madison McCrackin (Diane), of Clayton, GA; Joe McCrackin (Brenda), of Clayton, GA; her daughter, Liz Buchanan (Rick), of Hollywood, GA; ten grandchildren,  30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private graveside service with burial in the McCrackin family cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Geneva's memory to the People's Baptist Church or Battle Branch Baptist Church P.O. Box 483 Clayton, GA 30525.
