Genevieve Michael Hendricks "Jean", 87, of Clayton, GA passed away at her home after a brief illness.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Maurice Michaels, her husband Sonny Hendricks and two sons David and Michael Hendricks.

Jean is survived by two sons, Robbie Hendricks his fiancé Candice of Clayton; Jeff Hendricks and his wife Cindy of Cumming GA; Six very special grandchildren Sonya Shook husband Kyle, Katie and Cliff Hendricks their mother Chris McCracken, Garrett, Graham and Elise Hendricks; Three adored great grandchildren Miya and Aidan Stewart and Kyla Shook.

Jean was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 11th 1934. She graduated from Bass High School where she met her husband Sonny.  They moved their family to Lake Burton in 1972 and soon became the queen of Lake Burton! Jean had so much whit and humor, the entertainment at any party, hosting an annual 4th of July celebration at her lake home.

After the tragic loss of two sons in 1978 she found joy in 1980 when her 1st granddaughter, Sonya was born, she spent the rest of her life being the best grandmother and great grandmother to her family making special memories. Jean loved celebrating Birthdays with lots of balloons and cake. Never forgetting a family member Birthday by tying balloons outside her home, even for the ones that lived out of town in their honor. Her camera was always close by and she is sharing a legacy of pictures.

Rhapsody in Rabun started its work in 1991 and Jean helped for years at the annual fundraiser. Jean loved her flowers but donations can be made to some of the local charities that Rhapsody has helped such as FAITH, Habitat for Humanity and Sid Weber.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday July 24th from 11 to 1.  Immediately following visitation will be a service at Becks funeral home Chapel.
