George Hubert Allen, age 80, passed away on April 18, 2026. He was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia to the late George Hubert Allen Sr. and late Hazel Allison Allen.

George graduated from Gainesville High School in 1963 then went on to attend Auburn University where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He began working for Georgia Power in the Civil Engineering Department and acquired his Professional Engineering License in Civil Engineering. After retiring in 2003, George moved to Rabun County where he lived on Lake Rabun and became very involved in his new community. George was also a member of Truth Chapel, the 100 Club, the Grand Lodge of Georgia in Rabun Gap, the Lake Rabun Association, and the Rabun County Development Authority.

George is survived by his loving wife, Rosa Allen; and step-son, Mark Groover.

Visitation will take place from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Beck Funeral Home with a funeral service taking place at 1:00pm in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at 3:15pm at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia.
