Harvey Franklin Thacker, age 78, of Rabun Gap, Georgia, passed away on October 28, 2020.

Harvey was born the son of the late Houston Thacker and the late Elsie Williams Thacker on September 10, 1942. In his professional life he worked as an educator. He was always known as a man who enjoyed walking, he was an avid reader, scholar and teacher. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time walking through the woods.

His survivors include daughter Priscilla and Mark Dunn-Buchanan of Hickory, NC; daughter Deborah and Vernon Smith of Burnsville, NC; son Stephen and Jennifer Thacker of Huntersville, NC; daughter Karen and Bryon Duncan of Marion, NC, son Nathan and Rebekah Thacker of Spruce Pine, NC; and son Rev. Jonathan and Julie Thacker of Bakersville , NC., 23 grandchildren and 11 great grand children.
