Helen Oliver Lee, age 80, of Mountain City, Ga. passed away at her residence Saturday morning September 16, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born May 26, 1937 the daughter of the late Harry Larkin Oliver and Ollie Mae Taylor Oliver. Also preceding her in death is sister Arretta Oliver Mitchell and one brother Harry Lloyd "Shorty" Oliver.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years George Webster Lee of the home, two children son Robert Lee of Woodland, Wa., and daughter Susan and husband Ed Benfield of Cartersville, Ga. Grandson Anthony Benfield and fiancé Daniella, great grandsons Billy Joe Benfield West Union S.C. Will Campbell West Union S.C. Dominic Benfield Granddaughter Lyndsay ( Bruce) Summers Woodland, Wa., great grand daughter Brezy Summers, brother Larkin (Janie) Oliver, one sister in law Norma Cody Oliver, Auburn, Ga., six sisters and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Tiger Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star over thirty-one years, Secretary for sixteen years also served as Worthy Matron. She enjoyed going to the Grand Chapter in Macon; She liked to travel and recently enjoyed the Flea Market, she loved meeting and talking to different people. She also enjoyed the outdoors and working in the yard to keep it clean.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Monday September 18, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday September 19, 2017 at the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.Tim Hunnicutt and Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating.
