James Verlin Ritchie of Mountain City, Georgia passed away on April 30, 2024.

Verlin was born on February 8, 1940 in Mountain City, Georgia to the late Ethel Lee Ritchie. After high school, he joined the Army. Verlin was honored to serve his country. After this, he worked as a union carpenter in commercial construction. Upon retiring from the carpenters union, he returned home to Mountain City and continued his carpentry building homes.

Verlin found joy in helping and doing for others. He loved being outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

In addition to his mother, Verlin is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Bingham.

Verlin is survived by his children, James H Ritchie and Suzanne Renfroe; grandson, Bailey Hunt Renfroe ; uncle, Tom Ritchie; and aunt, Grace Watts.

A visitation will be held 3:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Beck Funeral Home with a service following in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel.
