Lora Turpin Jarrard, age 77, passed away on June 8, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born August 12, 1948 to the late Martin Jesse Turpin and Nelle Belle Turpin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Burch Jarrard, and brothers James Martin Turpin and Alvin Jesse Turpin. Lora is survived by two daughters, Jill Jarrard Clarke (Shawn) and Jodi Jarrard Dixon, 4 grandchildren Zachary Clarke, Ethan Clarke, Keldon Dixon (Tessa) and Clayton Dixon (Jaycee), 2 great grandchildren Bristol Dixon and Ace Dixon, niece and adopted daughter Tracy Turpin, niece Tiffany Turpin Whitmire and nephew Jon Turpin, and 2 brothers Russell Turpin and Mike Turpin.

Lora worked in the banking profession for 44 years and worked at Bank of Clayton, Community Bank & Trust, and Rabun County Bank where she retired. Lora was a member of the Eastern Star for over 45 years and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Warwoman Fire Department for many years. Lora was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church and will be interred in the church cemetery on Warwoman Road. A graveside service will be held at the Battle Branch Church Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 1pm with Madison McCrackin officiating.
