Netherland "Neb" Ray Speed, age 80, of Clayton, GA, passed away on August 13, 2017.

Neb was born the son of the late Marlor Calvin Speed Sr. and late Amanda Norton Speed in 1937.

Neb was a lifetime resident of Clayton, GA and attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He worked for the U.S. Forrest Service and also helped his brothers in the saw milling business. Neb enjoyed nature and being in the outdoors. He loved to spend time in the woods where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents Neb was preceded in death by; three brothers, Marlor Calvin Speed Jr., John Pick Speed, Donald Speed; one sister, Bernice Speed.

His survivors include his brothers, Milton Speed and Noah Melvin Speed (Mattie), both of Clayton as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in the Old Church Building from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in the Old Church Building, at 4:00 pm, with the Rev. Raymond Page, and Rev. Larry Cannon officiating.

Interment will follow the service in the cemetery of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
