Obituary

Patricia Jane Hoover Gallaher passed from this life to start her newest adventure on December 9, 2020. Patricia was born the daughter of the late Herbert Hoover and the late Dorothy Jane Hoover on September 2, 1948.

Her love of people and all animals inspired her professional life. She was an office manager for vet clinics and a chiropractor.

Pat loved to dance with the love of her life, Jim. She would also spontaneously break into dance with her daughters and grandchildren. Her favorites were the bump, line dancing,  and she could twist like no other.

Pat approached each day with enthusiastic joy and wonder. Scuba certified at age 60, she joined Jim and friends for a 2-week scuba and outback adventure. From hiking the Rockies in Colorado, the mountains and trails in Arizona, and jumping waves in the ocean, her energy was limitless. Her zest for life was paralleled only with her love of her husband, children, grandchildren, and pets.

Pat's ferocious determination won the battle against pancreatic cancer for 4 years. She was a warrior.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her loving husband, James Mason Gallaher; one son, Jerry Gallaher (Stephanie), of Colfax, LA; step-son, James Gallaher (Holli), of Denver, CO; two daughters, Tammy Castine (Nathaniel), of Champlain, NY, Sandy Piccone (Joe), of Huron, SD; nine grandchildren, Krista White, Lauren Matton (Eli), Miranda White, Colton Castine, Tyler Ruedebusch, Justin Ruedebusch, Cody Ruedebusch, Desiree Allen, Joy Young (Cole); four great-grandchildren also survive her.

Burial will be held at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Patricia to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice Foundation 2150 Limestone Parkway Suite 222 Gainesville, GA 30501.
