Obituary

Robert Crandall Holt died at his home October 18, 2022.  He is survived by his wife  Linda Dodson Holt, son Samuel Holt, granddaughter  Grace Holt, stepsisters Lysbeth Bainbridge (Steve Ramberg), Sarah Bainbridge Akridge (Chip) and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Bob was pre-deceased by his parents Emmy Lou Crandall Holt and Jack Nelson Holt of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, son Scott Crandall Holt, brother Philip Nelson Holt, sister Suzanne Lindholm, stepmother Grace Bainbridge Holt and stepbrother, Rt. Reverend Harry Bainbridge.

Bob was born in Oxford, MS. on November 22, 1936. He grew up in Vicksburg, MS. and Oak Ridge, TN.  He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in June, 1958.  After attending the Naval Supply Corps School in Athens, Georgia  he served aboard the USS Huse, DE-145 and also at the Glynco Naval Air Station, Brunswick, GA.

Bob was  retired from The Beck Group in  Atlanta, a company that provides architecture, construction, and consulting  services.  Notable projects he was involved in included One  Atlantic Center, Underground Atlanta, The Ritz Carlton, USAA Headquarters in Tampa  and Union Station in St. Louis. After his retirement he moved to Rabun County Georgia where he was a member of St. James Episcopal Church,  Clayton, pursued his hobby of gardening and the riches of the Rabun County Library.

The family wishes to thank his caregiver Regina Holbrook, CNA, Maria Merino and the staff of Pruitt Hospice.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held in the Spring.
