Obituary

Robert Boyce Sexton, 75 of Lakemont Georgia passed away from his earthly life on July 26th, 2024. His loving wife and many friends were near to help pray him to his eternal home. After a long hard battle with Parkinson's, he is freely walking with his Savior and singing with the saints.

Born August 28th, 1948 to Carlos Earl Sexton and Pairalee Eller Sexton, Robert was their pride and joy as he grew up with a love of music and a great talent that touched many lives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Carlos Earl Sexton Jr, Norman Noel Sexton, and sister Sharon Delores Sexton Shope.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Hastings Sexton; sisters Betty Sexton Dickens and Burma Sexton Coleman; children Neville Wilburn, Christy Sexton Miller, April Wilburn Hill and Margie Sexton; grandchildren Seth Hill, Bailey Beck, Sasha Hill, Sawyer Hill and Wyatt Wilburn; and great grandson Abram Hill.

Having proudly graduated Piedmont College with a chemistry degree, he spent his work life as director of Rabun County DFACS; an independent roofer and as a chemist at both Rabun Mills and Lake Rabun Water department. He was known as a steadfast and loyal employee.

Robert's legacy will live on forever through the many songs he sang and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
