Rodney Allen Roe M.D., age 78 of Clayton, Georgia passed away on June 24, 2021.
Rodney was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Rex Allen Roe and the late Joyce Jones Roe. He grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn Byars Row, of Clayton. He was the father of two daughters, Rowan Bupp and Heather Roe, and granddaughters, Maya, Devon, Kajsa and Dasha, and niece Christine, additionally a brother, William Andrew Roe.
Rodney was a graduate of the University of Arkansas Medical School Little Rock, Arkansas, Class of 1968.
Rodney served his country during the Vietnam War as a Flight Surgeon attached to the 335 Attack Helicopter Company in the Army. His thirty year career in medicine was as a pathologist.
Rodney was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Franklin, North Carolina where he often played his guitar during services. Rodney may be remembered as a potter, a long time hobby. Others will miss his insightful blogs.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on a later date to be announced at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Franklin, North Carolina.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in Rodney's memory to Caring House, Inc. 2625 Pickett Road Durham, NC 27705. "Caring House provides patients at Duke Cancer Institute with peace of mind by providing affordable housing in a healing environment and a positive support community."
