Sandra "Sandy" Lee Burnette Hopton, age 70, passed away February 6, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Hattie Lee Hopper Burnette and Otis Burnette. She was also preceded in death by brothers Lamar Burnette, and Vernon Burnette.

She is survived by three sisters, Donna Burnette Best of Rabun Gap, Ga., Brenda Burnette Rogers (E.J.) of Toccoa, Ga., and Diane Burnette Blalock of Clayton, Ga., and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Sandy was a sports fan and was an avid NC Tarheels, and Atlanta Braves fan. She worked for the United States Forest Service. She attended church at Scaly Church of God and loved gospel music. She also enjoyed good home cooking.

A Graveside service will be held at Wesley Cemetery at 11:00am on Thursday February 9, 2023 with Rev. Norman Dryman officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
