Sharon Deloris Sexton Shope, age, 71, of Mountain City, Ga., passed away May 25, 2017, at Chatuge Regional Hospital. She was born May 9, 1946 the daughter of the late Earl and Paralee Eller Sexton.

In addition to her parents, two brothers Carlos Sexton and Norman Sexton also preceded Sharon in death.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Shope of Mountain City, GA. two sons, Dale Shope and Scott Shope, both of Hiawassee GA; one brother, Robert Sexton Lakemont, GA; two sisters, Betty Dickens Madison Heights MI, and Burma Coleman of Rabun Gap, GA; and one granddaughter, Jessica Shope of Port Huron.

Sharon was a member of Newman's Chapel Baptist Church. She worked for the USPS, and Regions Bank. She was hard working homemaker and loving mother, wife, and grandmother.

The family will receive friends on Saturday May 27, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Newman's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Cannon, Rev. Teresa Talley and Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating, interment will follow in the Newman's Chapel Cemetery.
