Alice "Allie" Bowman Moseley Obituary
Alice “Allie” Bowman Moseley was a spirited, loyal, unflinching, southern lady who never ceased to amaze and delight those whose lives she touched. On January 27, 2025, at the age of 102, she passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Allie was born in Chilhowie Virginia, on December 5, 1922, to James A. Bowman and Nancy Lou Fowler. She was the youngest of eleven children and was adored by her older siblings.
She married Robert “Bob” H. Moseley on July 21, 1946, and they celebrated over 65 years of marriage until Bob’s death in 2012. They traveled extensively and enjoyed their neighbors and friends. They were active in bridge clubs throughout their lives. Along with bridge, she played Pitch with her son and grandsons.
Allie was an avid gardener and grew her own vegetables. She was also a voracious reader who appreciated the power of the written word. Her handwriting was impeccable. Sports, especially tennis and football, were her favorite programs to enjoy on television.
Allie was a devout member of the St. James Episcopal Church and lived her faith every day. She was mentally sharp, brutally honest and at the same time, compassionate and caring. She treasured her friends and cherished her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Robert Hillary Moseley, and William Michael Moseley. Allie is survived by her grandsons, Brian Moseley of Boston, Massachusetts, and Christopher Moseley of Elllisville, Missouri, and two great-grandchildren, Marleau and Mac Moseley.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. James Episcopal Church at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. James Episcopal Church Garden Guild.
Allie was truly one of a kind, and she will be forever in our hearts as an inspiration for a life well-lived.
