Audie Mae Travis Weaver Lawrence

Audie Mae Travis Weaver Lawrence, age 89, passed away on May 22, 2021. Audie was born to Edward Lee & Vivian Beulah Travis in Delhi, LA the baby of seven children; she later married and moved to Houma, LA, where her son was born.

She remarried after her son was grown and traveled and lived in many places in Europe. She was privileged to see and learn about many other countries and cultures. She moved to New Orleans, LA and had her own salon “Audie’s Coiffure’s.”  She was a renowned hairdresser. Later, when she moved to Georgia she opened “Audies Hair Designs” in Dillard. She later married Dr. John Lawrence and moved her home in Rabun Gap, where she continued to work as a hairdresser until her health would not allow.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her son, Roy F. Jones (Pat), of Moorpark, CA; her grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Kelly; her great niece, Debbie Muse (Sonny) of Transylvania, LA and their children, Heather, Amanda and Matthew; her niece, Glynell Stanley (Otis), of Pensacola, Florida and her daughter, Rosanna Henley; her niece, Annette Cockrell (Lonnie), of Hamburg, AR and their children, Bill and April; her niece, Joyce Mizell (Chester), of Livingston, LA and her daughter, Brittany Wiggins; her nephews, Larry Travis, of Clayton, Georgia and his children, Nicole, Nicholas and Allisha; her nephew, Jimmy Travis, of New Orleans, LA; her caretaker, Tami McCutcheon and family, of Rabun Gap.

Audie loved life. She loved laughter and loved people. She was kind and generous to all she met. She helped her family throughout her lifetime and always made time for them. She will always be remembered for her generosity, love for people, big sunglasses, big purses, pretty jewelry, shoes, clothes, chocolate and most of all for her Big Beautiful smile.

She knew the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior and is now at home with him, at peace and whole again. She will forever be loved, missed and in our hearts.
