Brenda Parker Norton, age 80, of Clayton, Georgia passed away May 6, 2024.

Brenda was born on November 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Alfred Buren Parker and late Zura Savannah Parker. She worked as a Community Resource Coordinator for the state of Georgia Ninth District Opportunity.

Brenda was a loving wife of 49 years, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always there to meet her family’s need no matter what they were. Brenda enjoyed shopping and going to yard sales. Brenda was a godly woman firm in her faith. She was instrumental in the starting of FAITH in Rabun County. An original founder, Brenda worked tirelessly to grow and promote FAITH to help as many Rabun County residents as possible.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by sister, Beatrice Darnell.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Norton; children, Darryl Garland (Ramelle), Bryant Garland (Tammy), Tammy Luke, and, Shannon Crosby (Keith); brothers, JL Parker, Doug Parker, Doyle Parker, and David Parker; grandchildren, Darryl “DJ” Garland Jr. (Georgia), Taylor Bynum (Andrew), Elli Garland, Eli Luke (Birdie), Chandler Houser (Ryan), Colin Crosby, Abbi Crosby, and Orin Garland; and great-grandchildren, Elton Garland, Lex Bynum, Guy Luke, Olen Houser, and Leelin Houser.

A receiving of family and friends will be held 1:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Beck Funeral Home with the service following at 2:00pm in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in the Persimmon Community Cemetery.
