Brenda Kaye Hensley Speed, age 71, of Monroe, Georgia passed away on September 3, 2023.

Brenda was born on August 21, 1952 in Dillsboro, North Carolina, to the late Gordon Clay Hensley and the late Evelyn Louise Massey Hensley. She worked as a housekeeper at Eckerd Living Center in Highlands, North Carolina.

Brenda loved hunting and fishing. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family. Brenda liked to spend her time listening to gospel music, reading and playing games on her phone. Above all of her hobbies, her greatest love was her grandchildren who meant the world to her. She found joy in taking care of people and never met a stranger. Brenda also enjoyed playing penny slots at the casino.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Ray Hensley and March Hensley.

She is survived by, children, Rhonda (Robert) Scarborough, Melinda Fountain and Josh Watts, siblings, CL Hensley, Ronnie Hensley, Roger Hensley, Steve Hensley, grandchildren, Kaylynn McConnell, Martin Pass, Kimberly Pass, Sabrina McConnell, and Danielle Fountain, and great-grandchildren, Aerielle King, Adilyn King, Raelynn Pass, Serenity Sharkey and another one on the way.

In honor of Brenda, visitation is to be held at 11:00am-12:00pm Thursday, September 7, 2023 with service following in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00pm with Ronnie Hensley speaking. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery.
