Carol Reeves Obituary

Julia Carol Watts Reeves, age 81, of Clayton, Georgia passed away on April 21, 2020. 

 

Carol was born the daughter of Edgbert Watts and Della C. Watts on October 2, 1938. 

She graduated from the Rabun County High School Class of 1956, and was Historian and Secretary of that class. As a passionate homemaker, Carol loved working in the housewares department at Reeves Hardware, her family’s business, along with serving as advertising manager for many years. Carol lived in the Clayton area her whole life. She was a Christian and was a member of the Clayton First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Mountain Ivy Garden Club. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgbert Watts and Della C. Watts. 

 

Her survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lewis Farmer Reeves Jr; two sons, Lewis Farmer Reeves III and William Jeffrey Reeves; two daughters,Christina Reeves McCracken and Ann Reeves Houston; one brother, Calvin D Watts of Orlando Florida; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive her. 

 

In order to protect our community from the healthcare crisis our nation is enduring, the family will hold a private burial service. 

 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mountain Ivy Garden Club P.O. Box 3 Tiger, Ga 30576 or The Rabun County Historical Society P.O. Box 921 Clayton, Ga 30525 in memory of Carol Watts Reeves.
