Cecil A Smith Obituary

Cecil Smith, 87, went to be with Jesus on March 19, 2025.

Cecil was born to the late Lester and late Izebell Beaty Smith on May 17, 1937; he was the third child of a family of fifteen.

Cecil loved to tell stories of his brothers and sisters as they were growing up. He had a really special love for his parents as he was always helping with his younger siblings.

Cecil was employed at the A.I.D. Corporation for 45 years. He made many dear friends throughout his working years.

Cecil was a member of Chechero Baptist Church. He loved his church and loved being with his church family. He attended gospel singings at local churches before failing health.

In addition to his parents, Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Carver Smith; and siblings, Lawrence Melvin, J.C. Smith, Robert Smith, Linda Faye, Dorothy Bush, and Llewllyn Thompson.

Cecil is survived by children, Steve Dixon (Linda), Dale Dixon, Debbie Atkinson, Sharon Shirley (Luke), and Susan Davis (Jake); siblings, Rosia Lee Page, Hazel Talley, Reba Towe, Bonnie Ammons, Alice Tallent (Greg), Sue Wilkerson (Donnie), Jim Smith (Lynn), and Tim Smith (Sheila); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank PruittHealth of Toccoa for the wonderful care they gave our daddy. You truly went above and beyond for his care.
