Dolly (Wilson) McCall

Dolly Wilson McCall, age 91, of Highlands, N.C., passed away March 17, 2021. She was born March 25, 1929 the daughter of the late Mack and Lona Chastain Wilson, also preceding her in death by her husband James Frank McCall of 65 years.

Dolly worked as a bank teller for First Union Banking. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was a hard worker and loved it.  She was a talented seamstress and quilter, who also enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables from the garden. She was a caring person that loved everyone.  She was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church where she led the choir for many years. She loved her church and the choir.

In addition to her parents Dolly was also preceded in death by her husband; seven brothers, Albert Wilson, Joe Wilson, Curt Wilson, Tom Wilson, Lyman Wilson, Walter Wilson and Gene Wilson, and two sisters, Velma Talley and Ellie Nix.

Surviving her in death are two daughters  Donna McCall Ivie (Doug) of Clarkesville, GA.; Cheryl McCall Wilson (Larry) of Gainesville, GA; two sons, Bert McCall (Bonnie) and Yogi McCall (Lynn), all of Highlands, NC; eight grandchildren, Peyton Ivie, Josh Wilson, Megan Bowen, Jennifer Honts, Marlee Beres, Kedra Grace McCall, Kayla Bryson and Craig McCall and ten great-grandchildren, Jake Wilson, Callie Wilson, McCall Bowen, Macie Bowen, Rylee Bryson, Laney Bryson, Kinsley Bryson, Gloria Lynn McCall, Harper Beres and Michaela Schmidt.

The family will have a graveside service Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 2:00pm at the Clear Creek Community Cemetery in Highlands, NC. with Rev. Jim Kinard. The family will receive friends at Clear Creek Baptist Church fellowship hall following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Clear Creek Baptist Church, 29 Rich Gap Road, Highlands, NC 28741 in memory of Dolly McCall.
