Gary “Trey” Lamar Gerrells, age 23, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on January 28, 2024.

Trey was born in Sylva, North Carolina to Mitchell Gerrells and Justyne Finley Reese. He spent his days working in construction.

Trey enjoyed helping people. He was a jokester and liked to work on cars. He loved spending time with his family, which often including wrestling with his little sister. Trey loved being a father to his baby girl more than anything else.

Trey is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary Finley, Henry Reese, and Louise Cadanas.

Trey is survived by his father, Mitchell Gerrells (Sylva Elliott); mother, Justyne (Aaron) Reese; daughter, Getta Gerrells; siblings, Trevor Reese, Ivey Gerrells, Amber Reese, China King, and August King; grandparents, Kathie Finley, Rick (Sheila) Munger, and Richard Gerrells; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held to honor the life of Trey at 1:00pm Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Highlands, North Carolina. Immediately after the service, a reception will be held at Rick and Shorty’s Creek.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beck Funeral Home to help with Trey’s final expenses.
