Hubert Adam Hooper

Hubert Adam Hooper, age 89, passed away on August 17, 2020.

Hubert was born the son of the late Cort Hooper and Lassie Mae Love Hooper, on March 16, 1931. Hubert held an associate’s degree from the University of Maryland.  Hubert was a retiree of the United States Army, after serving a little over 20 years. He worked at Rabun Mills, Kingwood, City of Clayton Water Department and Black Rock State Park. He also repaired small engines, appliances, worked on plumbing and preformed electrical work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved motorcycles and cars and was a weapons tester at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. Hubert is a Christian and living in his Heavenly home. He was member of the Clayton Baptist Church. He taught the twelve year old boy’s Sunday School for several years and served on the Benevolence Committee and as Chairman of Deacons.

In addition to his parents, three sisters, Dorothy Hooper Moore, Otee Marsengill, Vida Mae Hooper, preceded him in death.

His survivors include his wife of sixty six years next month, Louise Hooper; two sons, Timothy Hubert Hooper, Daniel Cort Hooper (Nancy); one daughter, Kim Louise Hooper Hix (Tom); one brother, Hoyt Hooper; four grandchildren, Marshall Adam Hooper, Joshua Thomas Hix, Darren Lee Hooper, Amanda Louise Hix.

A private family burial service will be held with burial to take place in the Clayton Cemetery. The family requests that everyone in attendance please wear a mask due to the pandemic and that no food be brought to the family.
