JB Smith

J B Smith age 87, of the Persimmon Community passed away August 27, 2022. He was the son of the late Chester Franklin Smith Sr., and Inez Mulligan Smith. He was also preceded in death by one sister Beatrice Player; four brothers W.C. Smith, Ernest Smith, Carl Smith, Billy Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lavalda (Val) Nichols Smith; daughter Ann Smith, April (Tim) Jones; son Tim (Lori) Smith; two grandchildren, Laurel, and Corbin; brothers,  Frank Smith,  Donald Smith and several nieces and nephews.

J B enjoyed doing yard work, he also enjoyed fishing, sports of all kinds, auto racing and was an avid Braves fan. He also was a great handy man that was able to fix anything. He enjoyed doing wood working. He was a faithful member of King Memorial Community Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at Beck Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00pm.  Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm August 30, 2022 at Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Westbrook, and Rev. Glenville Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Blalock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to King Memorial Community Church 4922 Persimmon Road Clayton, GA. 30525.
