Ila Jean Cagle Perkins, age 90, passed away on April 12, 2025. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on June 23, 1934, to Bronze H Cagle and Ila Magourit Cagle.

Jean grew up in Jacksonville Fl. She graduated college and became a Dental Hygienist. She loved spending time at their lake house on Kingsley Lake. Family was most important to Jean she loved spending every possible moment with them. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends. She later retired in Clayton, Ga where she loved hiking, and camping. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband Dr. Gordon D. Perkins III and her three brothers Floyd, Bronze and John.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Robert Clayton. Her children, Pamela P. Kehrt (Jim), Dana P Elmore (Richard), Gordon D Perkins IV (Brenda) and Mary B. Perkins (Slade); stepchildren, Mary Oglesby (Tom), Annie Wilhelm (Alf) and Jim Clayton; six grandchildren, and five Great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St James Episcopal Church Saturday May 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
