JoAnn Ramey Watts Obituary

Our loving and devoted mother, JoAnn Ramey Watts of Tiger, Georgia died peacefully on July 8, 2024, with her loving family at bedside. She was 76 years old.

JoAnn was born in Clayton, Georgia in April of 1948, the daughter of Floyd Maxwell Finley and Bessie Virginia Ramey. One of nine siblings, she grew up in Clayton, Georgia. In January of 1966, she married her soulmate, Jackie Milton Watts. Together they built a beautiful life full of love, faith, and cherished memories. Their marriage was a testament to their enduring commitment and partnership that lasted over 58 years. They were inseparable in life and death. They simply could not live without each other. Only four days after Jackie’s death, JoAnn joined him in Glory.

JoAnn was a truly remarkable woman. An active member and Treasurer of Carver’s Chapel Baptist Church, she was a woman of deep Christian faith and could often be found reading her Bible, studying the scriptures and listening to or singing her favorite hymns. She worked various jobs throughout her life but found her passion as a stay-at-home mother and caregiver to those in need. With her, one could always find unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance.

JoAnn is survived by her devoted sons Ricky Watts, Teddy Watts (John Clark); siblings Betty Sue Wilkerson, Donald Finley, Mary Sue Parker, Glenda Finley, Joseph Finley, and John Finley; grandchildren Jonathon Watts, Preston Watts, Trent Carver, Sarah Clark, Clinton Taylor; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others who were near and dear to her heart.

The family will receive friends during visitation at Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 12:00p.m. until the Funeral Hour at 12:00 p.m. for a joint service with her husband in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home. Rev Tim McCall, Allen Webb and Barry Bowman officiating.

Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, Georgia.
