John Thomas Amrine passed away on December 1, 2023. He is survived by the love of his life, Carol, his daughters Christina and Ashleigh, his grandchildren Blake and Daylon, and his siblings Jim, Veronica, Dixie, and Stanley.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rose Mary and John, sister Marsha, pets Sprocket, Socket, Daisy, Sushi, Chicoooo, and multiple motorcycles.
John wrestled his way through high school in Colorado, mined through the Rockies, and raced around the country on a horse with no name - his beloved Kawasaki. He won the first date with his love after she accidentally ran over his motorcycle.
He retired from 50 long years at Amrine Equipment where he fixed more than just machinery, he welcomed people into his life and family through the shop. He also learned at least a hundred uses for WD-40.
He enjoyed many things. Among those were hunting, fishing, studying God's word, stargazing, ruining a movie by explaining every way it was inaccurate, chess, teaching people, telling a good joke, and above all, his family.
A visitation will be held on December 16 at Beck Funeral Home from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. The funeral will be held at 1:00PM and will take place at the Beck's Funeral Home Chapel with the graveside to follow in the Battle Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of John Thomas Amrine.
Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements and is honored to serve John's family. If there are any questions, please call 706-782-9599. An online Memorial Register Book is available at www.beckfuneralhome.com.
