John Edward McClain

John Edward McClain, age 60 of Tiger passed away in Gainesville, Georgia on March 21, 2026 surrounded by family.

John was born the son of the late Dean Gay McClain Sr. and late Sharon Miller McClain on August 24, 1965 in Dallas, Texas.

John was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in running his own landscaping company, always striving to provide for others through his work. He truly loved what he did and often shared his belief that, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Outside of work, John found joy in the outdoors, especially deer hunting and fishing at Santee Cooper. He cherished those moments in nature, where he felt most at peace.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Joe McClain; and sister, Mary Jo McClain.

John is survived by his wife, Judy McClain; children, Samuel McClain (Michelle), Jordan McClain (Brea), Amanda McCrackin (Josh), Pamela Kilby (Joe), Joseph Justus (Shonda), and Amber Justus; grandchild of the home, Garrett Hudgins; siblings, Dean McClain (Sheila), Wendy Harkins, Shelly Vinson (Tony), and Penny Shepherd; grandchildren, Kelsey McCrackin, Hunter Lusk, Cami Lusk, Olivia Lusk, Walker Lusk, Destinee Frame, Dakota Frame, Harper McClain, Logan Shanley, Dawson Justus, Laurel Watts, Ashley Mosley, and Bryce Shackleford; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A receiving of family and friends will take place March 25, 2026 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Beck Funeral Home. Family members will be gathering at their respective homes.
