Lillian Joyce Anglin Peavey, age 93, of Sky Valley, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1932.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Carlton Anglin and Lillian Doris Pollette Anglin; her beloved husband, James Kinney Peavey Jr; and three siblings.
Joyce was a truly gracious lady who lived a life full of grace, kindness, and purpose. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and went on to teach in Douglas County, Georgia.
Joyce established a home in Sky Valley in 1999 and in 2021 she made it her full-time residence. She was an active member of the Chapel of Sky Valley and the Sky Valley Garden Club, always finding joy in fellowship and service. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went.
In the early 2000’s, Joyce discovered a passion for fused glass art, studying with John Phillips at Fire and Light in Otto, North Carolina. Her creativity and love for learning continued to flourish throughout her life.
Above all, Joyce cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted and involved mother who deeply loved her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons in Sky Valley, creating cherished memories.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joy Peavey-Akin (Roy), Nan Anders (Ken), and Helen Dunn (Chris); her grandchildren, Brad Anders (Kendra), Daniel Anders (Lauren), and Patrick Anders (Anna); and her great-grandchildren, Nora Anders and Archie Anders.
