Major Donald G. “Brad” Bradberry Sr., 81, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. He was born in Marianna, FL on June 12, 1944, to Glenn and Bonnie (Robinson) Bradberry. His life and military career were marked by outstanding service and bravery. His legacy of leadership and commitment will be remembered by all who knew him.
Brad served with honor in the United States Army. In 1966 Brad was drafted into the Army and served as an Army Ranger in Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he met and married his beloved wife, Belinda. They married on February 7, 1970, in Clayton, GA. They celebrated 55 years of marriage. They spent their years together traveling and raising their two children. Their lives were further enriched by their four grandchildren.
While in the military, Brad served in various command and staff positions as an Air Defense Artillery officer. His final assignment was in the PATRIOT AD Missile System Project Office in Huntsville, AL. Retiring from the US Army in 1986, he continued his work with PATRIOT at CAS Inc.
Brad was a loving family man who enjoyed fishing and spending time watching his grandchildren play in various sports. He also coached and helped many children, treating each like they were his own. Brad also had a loud distinct whistle that each child knew all too well. He was also known for his unwavering support, quick wit and devotion to those he loved.
Brad is survived by his devoted wife, Belinda Rose Buchanan Bradberry; his sister, Suzanne Bradberry Allgire; his daughter, Jennifer Bradberry Adams (Andrew Adams); his son, Donald G. Bradberry Jr.; and his beloved grandchildren, Tyler Wall, Addy Adams, Braelynn Bradberry, and Trey Bradberry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Albert Bradberry; his mother, Bonnie Bee Robinson Bradberry; his father-in-law, Paul Everett Buchanan; his mother-in-law, Gyneth Henson Buchanan; and his brother-in-law, Richard Allgire.
A dedicated and courageous husband, father, grandfather, soldier and friend, Brad served with honor in the United States Army and in his life. He leaves behind a legacy of service, leadership and love of country.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
