Mark Stephen Brown Obituary
Mark Stephen Brown of Clayton, Georgia passed away on August 3, 2024.
Mark was born March 2, 1954 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William Frank Brown and late Lera McAdams Brown. After graduating high school, he went on to attend the University of Georgia and the Art Institute of Atlanta. He spent his working days as a Landscape Contractor. He was part owner of Environmental Design Group in Norcross, Georgia for 20 years, before moving to Clayton in 2001 to begin Mountain Scapes Inc. His love for landscaping brought him great satisfaction.
Mark, a devout Christian, was always sharing the love of Jesus. He also loved music. In addition to enjoying old gospel hymns, Mark played the fiddle and guitar. It was always a dream of Mark’s to settle in the mountains and after receiving the opportunity to move, the community welcomed him and his kind spirit. Above all else, Mark was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved and cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his brother, William Frank Brown Jr.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Patti Vina Brown; son, Zach Brown (Britney); bonus daughter, Vina Leigh Jumper; childhood best friend, Rick Morris; sister-in-law, Norma Curley; niece, Dixie Brown (Jim); cousins, Nancy Kotheimer (Dean), Benita Ahrens (Doug), and Mike Easley (Sara); grandchild, Tanner Brown; and bonus grandchild, Bryce Gragg.
Visitation will be held 6:00pm-8:00pm Friday, August 9, 2024 at Beck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Rocky Grove Baptist Church with interment following at Rocky Grove Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the McKelvey Lung Transplant Program at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Mark received exceptional care from their team of experts. We were able to enjoy our loved ones and build a life together in the nearly twelve additional years that God graced upon us.
All of this was possible because of the precious donation of Joshua Markel’s lungs and the family’s support of his decision.
